Sample Collection T326HC (Nasopharyngeal & Oropharyngeal swab)

Tianlong sample collection set includes collection tubes with Specimen transport media (STM) (inactivated and non-inactivated) and swabs (oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal) applicable for single sample collection or multiplex sampling. Tianlong’s unique STM was designed and developed with its special formula offering a biological buffering system that can maintain normal biological pH value, inhibit the nuclease activity of DNase and RNase, and prevent sample nucleic acid degradation. The inactivated STM can damage the advanced structure of pathogen protein and physiological activity, and reduce the infectious and pathogenic ability.

  • Product Code: T326HC
  • Package Contents: Specimen Transport Medium with 3ml EDTA, TRIS, guanidine hydrochloride mixture and Nasopharyngeal and Oropharyngeal Swabs
  • Intended Use: The product is used for collecting, preserving and transportation of human specimen for analysis.
  • Storage / Stability: Specimens should be analysed and detected as soon as possible. Those that will be used within 24h can be preserved at 2-8℃ and others should be preserved at -20℃ or below.
  • Automation-ready: The collection tube is automation-ready for Tianlong automated nucleic acid workstations such as PANA9600E and PANA9600S. The single sampling tube is automation-ready for Tianlong’s automated sample processing system GeneMix 48. The opening and closing of the lid can also be automated, which greatly improves the efficiency of sample detection.

Testing Procedure (Oropharyngeal Swabs)

Swab on the posterior wall of the pharynx tonsil recess, lateral wall,etc. Repeatedly wipe 3-5 times.

Immerse the swab head after sampling preserved in liquid in the tube.

Break off the swab from the breaking point

Tighten the lid and shake. Insert the tube into a transport bag and seal

Testing Procedure (Nasopharyngeal Swabs)

Slowly insert the swab along the bottom of the nasal passage. When it reaches the back wall of the nasopharyngeal cavity, gently rotate it once, and then slowly remove the swab.
